Amnon and Tamar was first produced in 2003 during the Dublin Fringe Festival. The old testament myth of incest and betrayal was treated to an otherworldly version in a war-torn reimagined plain where questions involving the role of authority, propaganda & revenge were aired in a highly atmospheric production, with extensive use of set, sound design and gimmickry.
Spanning twenty years, Amnon and Tamar retells this biblical myth of incestuous love between two siblings. Fusing installation, performance art and live sound manipulation, The Stomach Box proposes this neo-moralist tale as a metaphor for the modern age.
