Justin Carroll

Justin Carroll is a highly creative and talented pianist currently involved in a number of innovation projects in Dublin. He leads an exciting new quartet Togetherness and is a member of award winning organ trio Organics, and also Zoid Ensemble, Kai Big Band, Cortisol, Rebecca Collins…
Justin has toured and performed with many outstanding musicians such as Greg Osby, Bobby Watson, Ronnie Cuber and Jim Mullen. In 2007, Justin was awarded Best Young Irish Jazz Musician at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. Growing up in Dublin, Justin worked with and acquired musically direct from musicians such as Louis Stewart, Richie Buckley, Myles Drennan, Ronan Guilfoyle, Michael Buckley.
He holds a Diploma in Jazz Performance from Newpark Music Centre, and a Masters Degree (First Class Honours) in Music and Media Technologies from Trinity College. He also studied at the Jazz Workshop in Banff, Canada on three occasions with some highly creative and diverse jazz musicians such as Kenny Werner, Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Joey Baron, Mark Feldman and Tony Malaby.
In 2003/04 Justin's composition Helicopter Duo, an electronic piece for two manually rotated loudspeakers, was performed at the Crash Ensemble Festival and the RTE Living Music Festival.
