Simon Jermyn

Simon Jermyn plays electric bass, guitars, electronics and is a composer. He co leads duo/sextet Awkward Silence, leads Trot A Mouse (featuring Chris Speed and Loren Stillman), is a member of  improv/avant rock trio Red Rocket, contemporary jazz quartet Justin Carroll's Togetherness and singer songwriter Rebecca Collins band.

Simon has lived in The Netherlands, Reykjavik and New York and now he is back in Dublin where is an active member of the thriving creative music scene there.

As well as having performed in Belguim, France, Luxemburg, Holland, Denmark, Iceland, England and the USA, Simon's music has been released on Fresh Sound New Talent records, RAT records and Diatribe. He holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from The Royal Conservatory of The Hague in The Netherlands.

Simon has recently returned from a trips to New York and London. In New York he recorded as a member of the Ryan Blotnick quartet for the esteemed Canadian label Songlines. The band consisted of Ryan Blotnick-guitar/compositions, Joachim Badenhorst-clarinets/tenor, Simon Jermyn-basses and the amazing Jeff Williams on drums (a former member of the Stan Getz quartet, Paul Bley trio and Joe Lovano's group). While in NYC Simon also performed with Pete Robbins Silent Z with Pete, Jesse Neuman and Dan Weiss on drums.

In London Simon played a concert with new collaborative trio Updog, featuring Loop collective members Dave Smith on drums and Robin Fincker on tenor/clarinet.
