Floater came about through a shared desire to play groove based music in a looser fashion than usual, with no obligation to stay in the same tempo or tonality. The sound of Rhodes, electric bass and drums is classic, made popular in the 70s with groups like Herbie Hancock's Headhunters. This band lies somewhere between 70's jazz funk, free jazz and ambient soundscapes.
