the chambermaids

The Chambermaids is a performative intervention that was produced as part of a body of research in the Cork Street area of Dublin. It looks at how the redevelopment of this once quiet neighbourhood street brought about the systematic disenfranchisement of the people of the area. The road has been widened to create a four lane quality corridor into the city. The area is under a process of regeneration with high rise developments being build along the street. As the street becomes an inbetween place,a viaduct transporting others into the city centre, the community are gradually losing their place there.
