The Quiet Music Ensemble is a Cork-based contemporary music group led by composer and performer John Godfrey, launched in July 2008. The QME is dedicated to music that invites deep attention and perceptive listening; music that is immersive, reflective, and introspective; music that is an experimentation with, and meditation on sound itself and our relationship with it.

The Quiet Music Festival was a celebration of Experimental Music from Ireland and abroad. It brought new and dynamic artistic practices and musical repertoire to Ireland by focusing on work which presents exciting challenges to our preconceptions of the nature of music and how we interact with sound. The festival was engaging for experienced listeners and equally accessible to new audiences through active, creative education projects and an innovative performance programme.
